Decompression Therapy

Spinal DecompressionHarris Family Chiropractic is pleased to provide the DTS Spinal Decompression System.  Spinal Decompression Therapy is a revolutionary non-surgical treatment for low back pain, neck pain, and a variety of disc issues.

Spinal decompression therapy works by restoring proper function to an injured disc.  This is done by producing a controlled, mechanical traction on the spine using our Titron DTS Decompression Table.  Spinal Decompression Therapy is applied to the spine to bring about several benefits including:

  • Create a negative intradiscal pressure to promote retraction or repositioning of the herniated or bulging disc material.
  • Create a lower pressure in the disc that will cause an influx of healing nutrients and other substances into the disc.

Overtime the discs of the spine may deteriorate, bulge or herniate. A Disc herniation can occur in any disc of the spine, but the most common form is a lumbar or cervical disc herniation.

Symptoms of a herniated disc can vary depending on the location of the herniation and the type of soft tissue involved. In many cases severe and unrelenting pain will radiate into the region served by an affected nerve root that is irritated or impinged by the herniated material.

How it works

Patients are fitted with a support system then positioned on our comfortable spinal decompression table. The purpose of the support system is to stabilize the patient’s body.

An advanced computer system elongates the spine in a slow, gentle manner in order to relieve pressure on compressed discs.

In our experience patient’s experience relief of symptoms within 3-5 visits and our clinic is proud to have a 95% success rate when decompression therapy is combined with chiropractic adjustments!
